Fact Checked

Instapage pricing starts at $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually, and that headline number is the trap. The $99 Create plan builds and publishes pages, but it cannot run an A/B test. Testing starts on Optimize at $199 a month ($159 annually), so most marketers should budget for $159 to $199, not $79.

This breakdown is for paid-traffic teams, agencies, and demand-gen marketers deciding whether Instapage fits the budget. If you run a small site or only need a few pages, skip to the alternatives section: two rivals cost less and one tests on every plan. I checked every figure on the live Instapage plans page in August 2026.

  • Create: $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually, 15,000 unique visitors, no A/B testing.
  • Optimize: $199 a month, or $159 annually, 30,000 visitors, server-side A/B testing included.
  • Optimize expanded: $299 a month, or $239 annually, 50,000 visitors.
  • Convert: custom pricing, sales demo required, adds heatmaps, personalization, and AdMap.
  • Trial: 14 days on Create and Optimize, credit card required, capped at 2,500 visitors.
  • Discount: annual billing saves up to 20%. There are no working coupon codes.

How Much Does Instapage Cost?

Instapage sells three plans priced by monthly visitor volume: Create, Optimize, and Convert. Create is $99 a month or $79 billed annually. Optimize is $199 a month or $159 annually at 30,000 visitors, and $299 or $239 at 50,000. Convert is custom. Every plan includes unlimited pages, conversions, and contacts.

Instapage on annual billing: Create at $79, Optimize at $159 with the 30,000-visitor option selected, and Convert priced on request.

The annual toggle is where the "up to 20%" claim comes from. Create drops $20 a month, Optimize drops $40, and the expanded Optimize tier drops $60. Instapage bills the year upfront, so the annual Create plan is a $948 payment and annual Optimize is $1,908. Monthly billing costs $1,188 and $2,388 for the same year.

If you want the plans in context, the full Instapage review covers the builder, support, and how the price ladder compares with the rest of the category. This page stays on the money.

What You Get on Each Instapage Plan

The 3 plans stack on top of each other, and the split is the whole buying decision. Create carries the builder and the AI writing tools. Optimize adds the entire experimentation layer. Convert holds the enterprise features that agencies talk about, and it needs a sales call. Here is the exact feature list per tier.

Create ($99 a month, $79 annually)

Create is the build-and-publish plan for 15,000 unique visitors a month. It includes the website and landing page builder, reusable page blocks and forms, real-time visual collaboration, triggered popups and sticky bars, AI content, contacts and email, and programmatic pages. It does not include A/B testing, dynamic text replacement, or multi-step forms.

  • Best for: teams that already know what converts and need fast, on-brand pages for many campaigns.
  • The catch: no experimentation at all, so every "which headline wins" question needs another tool.
  • Visitor cap: 15,000 unique visitors a month, with no cheaper tier below it.

Optimize ($199 a month, $159 annually)

Optimize is the plan Instapage marks as recommended, and for most buyers it is the real starting point. It carries everything in Create plus server-side A/B testing, hypothesis setting, experimentation history, customizable traffic splitting, scheduling, multi-step forms, and dynamic text replacement. Traffic covers 30,000 visitors, or 50,000 on the expanded tier.

  • Best for: performance marketers who test offers and need results without page flicker.
  • Dynamic text replacement lives here, not on Create, which matters for keyword-matched search pages.
  • The 50,000-visitor tier costs $299 a month or $239 annually.

Convert (custom pricing)

Convert is the enterprise tier and, unlike the $79 and $159 tiers, it has no public price. Instapage lists it as everything in Optimize plus an enterprise-ready platform, ad-to-page personalization, global elements, root domain publishing, heatmaps, direct lead bypass, and a dedicated customer success manager with conversion consulting and page migration. AdMap, the ad-to-page mapping view, sits here too.

  • Best for: agencies and enterprise teams that personalize pages per audience and need compliance controls.
  • Heatmaps are Convert-only. Instapage markets them as "only with Instapage," but smaller accounts never see them.
  • Convert has no free trial. You book a demo, then sales quotes the plan.

The Real Entry Price Is $199, Not $99

The most common Instapage complaint is not the price itself. It is discovering after signup that the $99 plan cannot test. In G2 and Trustpilot reviews, feature gating shows up in negative comments more than any product flaw. Split-testing is the reason most marketers buy a landing page tool, and here it starts one tier up.

Run the math with your own numbers. Say you spend $10,000 a month on Google Ads and your pages convert at 4 percent. A test that lifts that to 4.5 percent is worth 12.5 percent more leads for the same spend. At that scale, $159 a month for Optimize is a rounding error, and Create at $79 saves you $80 while costing you the lift.

Now flip it. Say you send 3,000 visitors a month and run one campaign. You will not reach statistical significance on most tests at that volume, so the Optimize features go unused. In that case, Instapage at any price is hard to defend, and the cheaper Instapage alternatives I ranked include two builders with testing on lower tiers.

Instapage Pricing by Traffic: What the Visitor Caps Mean

Instapage counts unique monthly visitors, not pageviews, and every tier has a hard number attached. Create stops at 15,000. Optimize covers 30,000, or 50,000 on the expanded option. Anything above 50,000 is a custom quote, and Instapage states that custom limits are available on annual contracts only.

The Optimize plan's visitor selector switches between 30,000 and 50,000 unique monthly visitors, which is what moves the price from $199 to $299 on monthly billing.

Two details matter here. First, there is no tier under 15,000 visitors, so a low-traffic site pays the same $79 as a busy one. Second, the trial does not use plan limits at all. It caps you at 2,500 unique visitors, and crossing that number ends the trial early and starts the paid subscription automatically.

Trial and Billing Rules Before You Pay

Instapage offers a 14-day trial on Create and Optimize, and it collects a credit card at signup. The company says the card screens out phishing scammers. In practice it also means billing starts by itself on day 15 for the plan you picked, unless you cancel first. A reminder email goes out near the end.

  • The trial requires a card, and Instapage charges it when the 14 days end.
  • Traffic during the trial is capped at 2,500 unique visitors, separate from plan limits.
  • Cancel during the trial from Account Management, then Subscriptions, then Cancel, and the card is not charged.
  • Once you are on a paid plan, cancellation is not a dashboard button. The account owner emails [email protected], and the change applies at the next billing cycle.
  • The terms of service state that all fees are non-refundable, so treat every payment as final.

The signup flow, the trial limits, and what happens on day 15 are covered step by step in how the 14-day trial actually works. If you are already paying and want out, the Instapage cancellation steps explain the email requirement and the 30-day download window.

Annual vs Monthly Billing: The 20% Math

Annual billing is the only real price cut Instapage offers, and it is worth up to 20 percent. Create falls from $99 to $79 a month, Optimize from $199 to $159, and the expanded Optimize tier from $299 to $239. Over a year that is $240, $480, or $720 saved. There is no coupon field at checkout.

Optimize (50,000)

The trade-off is commitment and refunds. Annual plans are billed upfront, the terms say fees are non-refundable, and Trustpilot reviewers describe renewal increases they did not expect. Confirm next year's rate in writing before you prepay. Every coupon site listing "30% off Instapage" codes is guessing, and I explain why in the Instapage annual discount breakdown.

If you are on monthly billing and want the annual rate later, you can switch inside the app: open My Account Admin, click Subscription, then Update Plan, choose annual, and Instapage issues a prorated invoice for the difference.

Instapage Pricing vs Unbounce, Leadpages, and Others

Instapage sits at the premium end of the landing page market, and the gap is widest at the entry level. Unbounce starts at $22 a month billed annually, Leadpages at $79, Landingi at $24, and Swipe Pages at $29. The fairer comparison is the cheapest plan with A/B testing, and there Instapage's $159 is the highest of the group.

Unbounce's $22 Starter plan is a small-site plan with 5 pages and 500 visitors, so the realistic Unbounce comparison is Build at $74 or Experiment at $112 with testing. I put the two side by side in the Instapage vs Unbounce pricing face-off. Leadpages is the one that undercuts Instapage on testing outright: A/B tests ship on its $79 Grow plan, which is exactly Instapage's no-testing price.

Which Instapage Plan Should You Choose?

The right plan depends on one question: will you run experiments in the next 90 days? If yes, start on Optimize at $159 a month annually, because Create cannot do it and upgrading later means paying the difference anyway. If no, and you only publish pages, Create at $79 is fine. Convert is for teams that need personalization per audience.

  • Choose Create if you publish campaign pages from proven templates and never split-test.
  • Choose Optimize if you test headlines, offers, or layouts and want server-side delivery with no flicker.
  • Choose the 50,000-visitor Optimize tier only when 30,000 uniques will not cover your monthly ad traffic.
  • Choose Convert if you need heatmaps, ad-to-page personalization, root domain publishing, or a dedicated success manager, and you can sit through a sales call.

Is Instapage Worth the Price?

Instapage is worth $159 to $199 a month for teams that run steady paid traffic and will use testing to earn the fee back. The builder is fast, the templates are strong, and support gets praised in review after review. It is not worth $79 for the Create plan alone, because that plan competes with builders that cost less and test more.

If you are still deciding, the trial is the cheapest way to find out, as long as you set a calendar reminder for day 13. Start it on the plan you would actually buy, push a real campaign through it under the 2,500-visitor cap, and judge the results before the card is charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Instapage cost per month?

Instapage costs $99 a month for Create or $199 a month for Optimize on monthly billing. Annual billing lowers those to $79 and $159 a month. The 50,000-visitor Optimize tier is $299 monthly or $239 annually, and Convert is custom-priced.

Does Instapage have a free plan?

No. Instapage has no free plan, only a 14-day trial that requires a credit card. After a trial or a cancellation the account drops to a "free builder" state where you can edit and build pages, but nothing can be published live without a paid plan.

What is the cheapest Instapage plan with A/B testing?

Optimize at $159 a month billed annually, or $199 month to month. The $79 Create plan cannot run experiments, traffic splits, or dynamic text replacement. That gap is the most common surprise in user reviews.

What happens if I go over my Instapage visitor limit?

Instapage prices by traffic tier, so more visitors means the next tier or a custom quote. Create covers 15,000 uniques, Optimize 30,000 or 50,000. Above 50,000, Instapage quotes custom usage on annual contracts only. During the trial the cap is 2,500 visitors, and crossing it starts your paid plan.

Does Instapage offer refunds?

No. The Instapage terms of service say all fees are non-refundable, even if you barely used the product. There is no money-back guarantee on the pricing page. Cancel before a renewal instead of expecting a refund after one.

Is there an Instapage coupon code?

No. Instapage has no coupon field at checkout and publishes no promo codes. The only discount is annual billing, which saves 20 percent: $99 becomes $79 and $199 becomes $159. Coupon sites listing 25 or 30 percent codes are not verified offers.

Is annual or monthly billing better for Instapage?

Annual is cheaper by 20 percent, but you prepay the year and fees are non-refundable. Start monthly during your first campaign cycle, confirm the tool earns its fee, then switch to annual inside My Account Admin. Instapage prorates the difference.

How much does the Instapage Convert plan cost?

Convert has no public price. Instapage quotes it after a demo, and it needs a sales conversation. It adds heatmaps, ad-to-page personalization, global elements, root domain publishing, and a dedicated success manager on top of everything in Optimize.
