Skool Payouts Explained: Schedule, Countries, and Take-Home Math

Skool pays your balance out every Wednesday, automatically, to a bank account connected through Stripe Express. The first payout is the slow one: identity checks can hold it for up to 14 days. After that it is weekly, in your local currency.

Payouts are also where Skool quietly disqualifies some creators. Here is the whole system in one table, then the details that matter.

How a Skool Payout Works, Start to Finish

Skool handles the whole money path itself: it charges the member in USD, keeps its transaction fee, and holds the rest as your balance. Skool, not you, is the merchant of record. That balance then pays out weekly through a Stripe Express connection to your bank account.

1. A member pays for your community in USD (monthly, annual, or lifetime pricing).
2. Skool deducts the transaction fee: 10% + 30c on Hobby, 2.9% + 30c on Pro.
3. The net amount joins your available balance inside the group dashboard.
4. Every Wednesday, Skool pays the available balance out via Stripe Express.
5. The deposit posts in 1-3 business days (US) or 3-5 (international), in your local currency.

The merchant-of-record part is a real difference from Circle and most course platforms, where you plug in your own Stripe and the money never touches the platform. Skool’s way means less setup and no gateway account, but also less control: its payout calendar is the only calendar.

The Skool Payout Schedule

Skool pays the available balance every Wednesday, with no manual withdraw step. A US bank account posts the deposit in 1-3 business days; international accounts take 3-5. The one exception is your first payout, which can take up to 14 days while Stripe Express runs identity and fraud checks.

• Sold on a Thursday? The sale waits for the next Wednesday run, then 1-5 more days in banking. Plan on up to 12 days from sale to cash early on.
• First payout: the up-to-14-day review happens once per account, not per payout.
• Every payout after: weekly, automatic, and trackable on the payout status screen in your group settings.

Payout Method: Stripe Express Only

Skool supports exactly one payout method: a bank account connected through Stripe Express inside your group settings. There is no PayPal option. Skool’s help center also rules out Wise, Chime, and other fintech banks, and an existing Stripe account cannot be reused. Identity verification is legally required.

• Setup path: group settings, then the Payouts tab, then pick your country and finish the Stripe Express flow.
• Use a normal local bank. Fintech accounts (Wise, Chime, Revolut-style) get rejected.
• One connection per group. You can change the bank account later without losing history.

Which Countries Get Paid (and Which Do Not)

Skool pays out to bank accounts in more than 140 countries, always in the local currency. Members pay in USD; Stripe converts on the way to your bank. Two hard limits stand out: USD deposits only work inside the US, and India is not supported at all right now.

That last line is the one that surprises people. If your bank is in India, you cannot connect payouts today, full stop. The practical workarounds creators use (a supported-country entity or a partner who owns billing) are real business decisions, not settings. Factor the currency conversion in too: a UK creator selling a $49/mo community gets paid in GBP at Stripe’s conversion, not in dollars.

What Skool Takes Before You See a Payout

Every sale sheds two costs before it reaches your bank: the plan’s transaction fee, then the subscription itself. Hobby pays 10% + 30c per transaction; Pro pays 2.9% + 30c, rising to 3.9% on charges above $900. Both fees are non-refundable, even when you refund the member.

Affiliate Payouts Run on a Different Rail

Skool’s 40% affiliate commissions do not ride the Wednesday cycle. They accrue in your account dashboard, need a KYC step of their own, and each commission sits pending for 14 days before it becomes payable. Community revenue and referral revenue are two separate ledgers with separate rules.

When a Payout Goes Wrong

Most payout problems trace to three causes: an unfinished Stripe Express verification, an unsupported bank type, or the normal first-payout review. Skool ships a payout status screen, a bank-change flow, and a downloadable reverse invoice for every payout, which answers most bookkeeping questions before support does.
