Kajabi costs $179, $249, or $499 per month since the January 2026 price rise, or $143, $199, and $399 billed annually. Kajabi takes no cut of your sales, but card processing does: a creator selling $5,215 a month keeps $4,874.27 on Basic. Plenty of ranking pages still quote the old $149 entry price. Those numbers died in January. Run your own volume below, then check which limit actually forces an upgrade, because it is contacts, not fees.

Kajabi pricing plans after the 2026 price rise
Kajabi sells three public plans: Basic at $179, Growth at $249, and Pro at $499 per month. Annual billing cuts those to $143, $199, and $399, saving $432 to $1,200 a year. This was the first price rise in roughly ten years, announced in late 2025.
Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Products | Contacts | Notable unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Basic | $179 | $143 | 5 | 2,500 | 1 website, 1 community, 2 admin users |
Growth | $249 | $199 | 50 | 25,000 | 11 admin users, 500 AI credits |
Pro | $499 | $399 | Unlimited | 100,000 | 3 websites, 3 communities, 26 admins, branded app and API included |
Marketing emails, landing pages, and funnels are unlimited on every tier, so those never drive an upgrade. Prices and limits come from Kajabi's pricing page.
The fees on every Kajabi sale
Kajabi charges a 0% platform fee on sales. Payments still cost money: Kajabi Payments takes 2.9% plus $0.30 per US card transaction on Basic, 2.8% on Growth, and 2.7% on Pro. Subscriptions and payment plans add a 0.7% surcharge on top of the card rate.
The smaller print adds up too. International cards cost an extra 1.5%. Afterpay runs 6% plus $0.30 and Klarna 5.99% plus $0.30. ACH direct debit is cheap at 0.80% capped at $5.00. Collecting sales tax through Kajabi costs $0.15 per transaction, invoices add 0.4%, and a disputed charge costs $15.
One change catches long-time users out: skipping Kajabi Payments now costs extra. Running your own Stripe adds a 2% fee on Basic, 1% on Growth, or 0.5% on Pro on top of the processor’s own rate. Rates come from the pricing page and the Kajabi Payments US fee schedule.
What you keep at three revenue levels
These totals come from the calculator above and combine the Basic plan fee with Kajabi Payments card fees on monthly billing. The pattern is blunt: below $1,000 a month the subscription is the fee, and past $20,000 a month Kajabi costs about 4% of revenue all-in.
Monthly sales | Gross revenue | Plan + card fees | Share of revenue | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
$99 course, 10 sales | $990 | $210.71 | 21.3% | $779.29 |
$149 course, 35 sales | $5,215 | $340.74 | 6.5% | $4,874.27 |
$199 course, 100 sales | $19,900 | $786.10 | 4.0% | $19,113.90 |
Annual billing moves the middle example from $340.74 to $304.74 in monthly fees, so you keep $4,910.27 instead. To model your own price and volume, change the numbers in the calculator and switch the billing toggle.
Upgrades are about caps, not cheaper fees
The card-fee discount from Basic to Growth is 0.1 percentage points, worth $5.22 on $5,215 of monthly sales. Against a $70 price jump, fee math alone would not justify Growth until roughly $70,000 in monthly revenue. The 2,500-contact cap forces the move far earlier.
That makes Kajabi plan choice a limits question. Basic stops at 2,500 contacts and 5 products. Growth raises those to 25,000 and 50 and adds nine more admin seats. Pro is the play for app-first brands: the branded mobile app (a $199 per month value) and API access are included, alongside 100,000 contacts and unlimited products.
AI credits follow the same ladder: none on Basic, 500 per month on Growth, 1,000 on Pro, with a $15 top-up for 500 more if you run out.
The cheaper Kajabi tier that is not on the pricing page
Kajabi removed its entry Kickstarter tier from the public pricing page in January 2026. Third-party reviews report it at $89 per month with 1 product and 250 contacts, and it still surfaces occasionally inside trial flows or through support. Treat it as unofficial: if it matters to your budget, ask support directly before assuming it exists.
Is Kajabi worth $179 a month?
At $990 a month in sales, Kajabi eats 21.3% of revenue, which is worse than most percentage-fee platforms. At $5,215 a month it costs 6.5%, and the bundled email, funnels, and site replace two or three separate subscriptions. The verdict tracks your volume, not the feature list.
- Choose Basic if you sell under 2,500 contacts and five or fewer products. The fee math never pushes you off it.
- Choose Growth when your list passes 2,500 contacts. That cap, not fees, is the trigger.
- Choose Pro if you want the branded app and API, which are included and otherwise cost $199 per month.
- Skip Kajabi under about $1,000 a month in sales. A flat cheap storefront keeps more: Stan Store’s $29 Creator plan leaves $541.60 of a $600 month versus Kajabi’s $391.60.
Course sellers who mainly need hosting rather than marketing automation should also price up what Thinkific charges for the same job, since its Basic plan runs $125 per month cheaper. To see the whole field at once, rank all 11 creator platforms on your own numbers.
