ZonGuru wins this on money: $29 a month against Helium 10's $99, and the gap holds until 21 of your SKUs are selling. Buy it if you run private label with 20 or fewer selling SKUs and Amazon as your only channel. Skip it if advertising is your bottleneck, because ZonGuru has no ad automation at any tier and Helium 10 keeps its own inside the $279 Diamond plan.
Helium 10 still wins on depth. The extra $70 a month buys deeper keyword data, Walmart and TikTok Shop coverage, and reimbursement claims, most of it a post-launch bill.
- Cheapest way in: $29/mo ZonGuru Researcher against $99/mo Helium 10 Platinum, both billed annually.
- Where it flips: at 21 selling SKUs the two land on the identical $99.
- The hard no: ZonGuru has no ad automation, and Helium 10 puts its own in Diamond at $279.
- The other hard no: ZonGuru is Amazon only. Helium 10 also sells Walmart and TikTok Shop.
The Arithmetic: $70 a Month, Until 21 SKUs
ZonGuru is cheaper than Helium 10 at every stage before scale, and then it stops. On annual billing ZonGuru opens at $29 a month and Helium 10 opens at $99. The gap holds until 21 of your SKUs have sold in the last 90 days. After that it closes, then reverses.
- No inventory yet: ZonGuru Researcher $29/mo against Platinum $99/mo. You keep $840 a year.
- 1 to 20 selling SKUs: ZonGuru Seller $49/mo against $99/mo. You keep $600 a year.
- 21 to 100 selling SKUs: ZonGuru Seller steps to $99/mo. Dead level with Platinum.
- 101 to 1,000 selling SKUs: ZonGuru Seller is $159/mo. Helium 10 is now $60/mo cheaper.
That crossover turns on one definition nobody prints. ZonGuru bills on SKUs that made a sale in the past 90 days, not SKUs parked in your catalog. A listing that sold one unit counts the same as your best seller, so two slow launches move you from the $49 band into the $99 one.
Our ZonGuru coupon takes 20% off any tier for as long as the subscription stays open: Researcher drops to $23 a month, the entry Seller plan to $39. It stacks on annual billing, and since Helium 10 has no matching cut, it pushes the break-even a full SKU band higher. The tier-by-tier read is in the ZonGuru tier-by-tier costs.
Helium 10's side is simpler and heavier. Platinum is $129 month to month or $99 billed annually. Diamond is $359 or $279. The old Starter tier is discontinued, so below $99 there is only a capped free plan. Helium 10 sits at 2.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 709 reviews, and the bill is what people write about most. The case for paying it is in my Helium 10 review.

Product Research: Two Different Jobs
ZonGuru and Helium 10 solve opposite research problems. ZonGuru moves you from a category to a supplier in four tools: Niche Finder, the Chrome extension, Sales Spy, and Easy Source. Helium 10 hands you filters to shrink a list you already hold, which is the wholesale and arbitrage problem, not the private-label one.
ZonGuru: Category to Supplier in Four Tools
Four of the six tools on ZonGuru's $29 Researcher plan run one continuous workflow. Niche Finder scores a category, the Chrome extension checks whether real products inside it sell, Sales Spy validates a single competitor's volume, and Easy Source pulls matching manufacturers from Alibaba.com. Nothing assumes you already own inventory.
Niche Finder carries the plan. It is the tool I would judge the whole Researcher tier on, and I break it down in ZonGuru's Niche Finder.
The Chrome extension is the confirmation step. You open a search page inside the category Niche Finder handed you and check whether those listings move real units.
Sales Spy narrows that to one competitor and shows what a single seller actually shifts.
Easy Source closes the loop with Alibaba.com manufacturers for the product you settled on, the step most research tools leave you to solve.
Operator scenario: say you have $8,000 for a first private-label order. Niche Finder narrows to a category, the extension confirms the top 10 listings move units, Sales Spy checks the leader, Easy Source returns manufacturers. Four tools, one afternoon, three supplier quotes.
The structural weakness is sourcing. Easy Source points at Alibaba.com, so if you buy domestically or from a supplier you already know, a quarter of the workflow is dead weight.
Helium 10: Filter a List You Already Own
Helium 10 attacks research from the other end. Black Box filters Amazon's catalog on revenue, review count, and price band, and it takes a pasted ASIN list, which is the wholesale buyer's exact problem. Xray turns demand against competition into one opportunity score, and both tools sit inside the $99 Platinum plan.
That opportunity score is the part worth paying for. Unit volume tells you nothing when you fight for the Buy Box on somebody else's listing. Seller count against volume tells you whether margin survives.
Keyword Research and Listing Tools
This is where Helium 10's extra $70 a month starts earning. Cerebro and Magnet remain the deeper keyword pair, and Helium 10 runs listing analysis on the product page itself. ZonGuru covers the same ground with two tools, and reads far faster.
Seeing what a live listing is missing without leaving the product page is a genuine Helium 10 edge.
ZonGuru's Listing Optimizer works the other way around. It builds your listing out of the keywords your competitors already rank for, which is the better shape when you write from scratch instead of repairing something.
Magnet returns more raw keyword data than Keywords on Fire does.
Magnet tool
Cerebro does the same from the reverse-ASIN side. Whether that depth helps depends on what you do next. A seller writing one listing a quarter drowns in a Cerebro export. A brand tracking 40 ASINs needs it.
Cerebro tool
Keywords on Fire is one of two ZonGuru tools sold on their own, at $19 a month for 45 sessions. The Chrome extension is the other, at $15 a month with unlimited sessions. If that is all you want, skip the plan around it.
The AI Layer: Helix, COSMO, and Rufus
Amazon started enforcing a 75-character title limit on July 27, and both tools now sell listing work built for Amazon's AI instead of for keyword stuffing. ZonGuru ships Helix plus a free AI-Readiness Score that returns in about two minutes. Helium 10 answers with an AI Listing Builder carrying a Rufus toggle.
ZonGuru's positioning is the more specific of the two. It names Amazon's COSMO ranking model directly, brands the free grader as a COSMO Readiness Report, and markets the suite as Rufus optimized. The site-wide pitch is a 75/125 split: the characters a shopper reads, and the rest built for the index.
Helium 10 is not sitting this out. Its Listing Builder carries a Rufus enhancement you switch on inside the AI writer, and it takes competitor ASINs so the copy answers what shoppers ask Rufus. The difference is the price of finding out: ZonGuru's score is free, Helium 10's sits behind a signup. Run the free score first.
Monitoring, Alerts, and Follow-Up
ZonGuru puts 7 of its 13 tools behind the Seller plan, and every one is a post-launch tool. Keyword Tracker watches daily rank, Product Pulse watches listing changes, My Products flags a reorder date, and the Business Dashboard prints profit for any period you select. Helium 10 runs those jobs from inside Profits.
Helium 10's Profits dashboard covers the same ground with a denser layout. Sales Trends per product makes a slow SKU obvious before the reorder goes out.
ZonGuru's My Products estimates days of supply and the reorder date from the previous period's sales.
Helium 10 keeps restocking inside Profits, where the inventory view lists what you hold.
Restock Suggestions works backwards from the lead times and supplier shipping times you enter.
One correction, because half the comparisons online get it wrong: ZonGuru's Index Checker is not in the paid plans any more, but it did not die. ZonGuru moved it out as a free standalone checker covering 10 marketplaces with no login, which undercuts Helium 10's version on price outright. Keyword Tracker is the paid tool for daily rank monitoring, Seller only. If listing alerts are why you are here, that job belongs to ZonGuru's Product Pulse.
Two gaps stay open on the ZonGuru side: no ad automation and no reimbursement claim tool at any tier. Helium 10 has both, but its rules-based campaign automation and dayparting live in Diamond at $279 a month, not in the $99 Platinum plan. If ACoS keeps you up, the real comparison is $279 against $29.
Marketplace Coverage: 10 Storefronts vs Three Channels
ZonGuru runs 10 live Amazon marketplaces plus two in beta. Helium 10 sells three sales channels instead of a country list: Amazon, Walmart, and TikTok Shop. ZonGuru has nothing outside Amazon at any tier, which makes this the cleanest fork on the page for anyone already selling on a second channel.
ZonGuru's 10 are the US, Canada and Mexico, the UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain, plus India and Australia. Singapore and the UAE sit behind a waitlist. Japan, Brazil, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Turkey are missing, so a seller with a Japanese storefront buys a tool that cannot see half the business. The country-by-country detail lives in every marketplace ZonGuru connects to.
Who Should Pick Which
Three variables decide this, and none is feature count. First is how many SKUs sold in your last 90 days. Second is whether advertising is your bottleneck. Third is whether you sell anywhere except Amazon. Answer those three honestly and the choice makes itself.
- Choose ZonGuru if: you have 20 or fewer selling SKUs, you sell private label, and Amazon is your only channel. At $29 to $49 a month annually you pay a third to half of Platinum.
- Choose Helium 10 if: you sell on Walmart or TikTok Shop, you cross 101 selling SKUs where ZonGuru's $159 tier runs $60 above Platinum, or you need ad automation at $279.
- Choose neither yet if: you have no product and no budget. Run ZonGuru's free AI-Readiness Score and Helium 10's capped free plan first, then start the 7-day ZonGuru trial.
The uncomfortable part: ZonGuru's advantage is real and temporary. It is worth $840 a year while you are small and nothing past 21 selling SKUs. Buy it annually now and re-run the math at renewal. Everything I found tool by tool sits in my full ZonGuru review.
