Fact Checked

ProfitTree costs $0, $5.99, $17.99, or $29.99 a month billed annually. Pay monthly and the three paid plans jump to $9.99, $29.99, and $49.99. A separate $67 lifetime plan exists, but it is a trimmed version of the tool sold on its own landing page, not Pro forever.

I opened both billing toggles and took the lifetime checkout to the payment step in August 2026. Growth at $17.99 fits most shops with steady orders. Pre-launch sellers should stay free, and anyone selling off Etsy needs a different tool.

  • Zero sales yet: Free, $0, 7 days of profit history.
  • Side hustle with real orders: Starter, $5.99 a month annually, 90 days of history.
  • Full-time shop running ads: Growth, $17.99 a month annually, one year of history.
  • Two or more shops: Pro, $29.99 a month annually, unlimited shops.
  • Allergic to subscriptions: the $67 lifetime plan, limits and all, covered below.

ProfitTree Pricing at a Glance

ProfitTree sells four subscription tiers plus one lifetime plan. Annual billing is the default toggle and cuts every paid price by exactly 40%. Starter drops from $9.99 to $5.99, Growth from $29.99 to $17.99, and Pro from $49.99 to $29.99. Annual totals are $71.88, $215.88, and $359.88 before tax.

What Each ProfitTree Plan Includes

The four tiers share one dashboard and differ mostly in data depth. AI credits climb from 200 to 4,000 per week. Profit history stretches from 7 days on Free to all-time on Pro. Competitor metrics run 7 days on Starter, 30 days on Growth, and all-time on Pro. Only Pro includes unlimited Etsy shops.

Early access to new features

Read the ladder honestly. Starter switches on product and listing reports, where per-SKU profit sorting lives. Growth buys the 30-day competitor window plus demand and conversion scores. Pro is a multi-shop or all-time-history purchase, nothing else.

Two things never change with price. The ProfitTree Chrome extension is free on every tier, with its Etsy Radar data following your plan's window. And no plan syncs live: the help center says shop data refreshes from your Etsy ledger about every 12 hours.

The Bouncer: Who Should NOT Pay for ProfitTree

Paying for ProfitTree only makes sense once it has orders to analyze. The tool reads one marketplace, expects one currency, and refreshes about every 12 hours. If one of the five profiles below is you, stay on the free tier or buy a different tool.

  • Your shop has zero sales. Profit tracking needs orders to subtract fees from. Read what the ProfitTree free plan includes and stay at $0 until they arrive.
  • You also sell on Amazon, Shopify, or eBay. ProfitTree models Etsy's fee schedule only, so half your margins stay untracked at full price.
  • You need same-hour numbers. On a launch day, Etsy's own stats page updates faster than a 12-hour sync.
  • Your shop currency differs from your bank currency. The help center warns that reports mix currencies in that setup, and Etsy ad data arrives in USD only.
  • You want product research more than profit math. The finder stays basic below Growth. Check EverBee pricing first: Hobby is free, Growth is $19.99 a month annually.

Which ProfitTree Plan Should You Choose?

Pick by seller stage, not by feature count. Three variables decide it. First, how much profit history you need. Second, whether you run Etsy Ads. Third, how many shops you own. Free covers a launch, Starter a side hustle, Growth a full-time shop, and Pro multiple shops.

  • Choose Free if: you have no sales yet or a handful a week. You get 200 AI credits, basic research, one shop, and 7 days of history for $0.
  • Choose Starter if: the shop is a side hustle with steady orders. $5.99 a month annually adds product and listing reports and 90 days of history.
  • Choose Growth if: you sell full-time and run Etsy Ads. The help center says to judge TACoS over 30 to 90 days, and Growth adds 30-day competitor trends plus a year of history for that call.
  • Choose Pro if: you run two or more shops or want all-time history. Every tier below it stops at one shop.
  • Choose the $67 lifetime if: one shop, 30-day windows, and no product or listing reports are enough, and you will test inside the 5-day refund window.

Monthly vs Annual: The Only Discount ProfitTree Really Offers

The annual toggle is the discount. It takes exactly 40% off all three paid tiers. Coupon sites repackage that same 40% as a secret code. No ProfitTree promo code was confirmed working in August 2026, and the vendor publishes none of its own. Annual billing also fixes your rate for the 12 months you pay for.

The monthly toggle: Starter $9.99, Growth $29.99, and Pro $49.99, with every paid card nudging you toward annual billing for 40% off. Screenshot taken August 2026.

Monthly billing wins in one situation: a paid one-month audit before you commit. There is no trial, so a $9.99 Starter month is the closest thing, and monthly payments are non-refundable. TREE10 came from a July 2024 podcast sponsor read, KEEP20 and SAVE50 live on coupon farms, and my ProfitTree discount code check tests each one.

VAT, Paddle Checkout, Refunds, and Plan Changes

Every ProfitTree price excludes tax. Paddle is the merchant of record and adds VAT or sales tax at checkout where your country requires it. When I opened the $67 lifetime checkout from an EU address, the total became $81.07 with 21% VAT. Refund windows are tight: none on monthly, 48 hours on annual, 5 days on lifetime.

Paddle's checkout for the $67 lifetime plan from Lithuania: $81.07 due today including VAT, plus a note that your payment method is saved for future payments. Screenshot taken August 2026.

The lifetime row is what the checkout showed me. The other rows apply the same rate, your own rate depends on your country, and many buyers pay no tax at all. Five billing rules matter more than the tax line:

  • A verified VAT ID removes VAT. Enter it in Paddle's payment-details step, and VAT drops off future invoices once it validates.
  • Refunds are narrow. Monthly is non-refundable, annual gets 48 hours for accidental purchases, lifetime gets 5 days. No partial refunds.
  • Plan changes are immediate and prorated. Unused time becomes a credit, upgrades charge the difference, and downgrade credits land on future bills.
  • Cancelling is self-serve. Paddle stores your card, so set a renewal reminder: a January 2026 Trustpilot reviewer was refused a refund after forgetting to cancel.
  • Two different VATs. The tax at checkout is on your subscription. VAT inside your shop's numbers stays your job, because ProfitTree does not account for it in profit reports.

The $67 Lifetime Plan vs the Subscriptions

The $67 lifetime plan is real and live in August 2026. It sells from its own landing page, not the pricing page, and it is not Pro for life. You get one Etsy shop, 30-day metrics, 200 AI credits a week, unlimited bestseller searches, and POD integrations. Product and listing reports are excluded.

Run the break-even before the "normally $360 a year" headline runs it for you. $67 equals about 3.7 months of Growth on annual billing, or 2.2 months of Growth paid monthly, and it undercuts a year of Starter at $71.88. The scope, though, sits between Free and Growth: Growth-style 30-day windows, Free-tier credits, one shop, no reports.

Buyers have pushed back. Reddit posters said in January 2026 that metrics they relied on had moved behind an upgrade, and a July 2026 thread called the deal deceptive for giving only 30 days of metrics and one shop. Today's landing page does list both limits, and the same thread's "one week of product research data" claim does not match what the page shows. My $67 ProfitTree lifetime deal breakdown has the full inclusion table and a safe buying order.

Effective Cost per Shop and the Multi-Shop Add-On

ProfitTree prices per account, not per shop, which changes the math for multi-shop sellers. Free, Starter, and Growth include one Etsy shop. Pro includes unlimited shops at no extra cost. The help center mentions a one-time paid add-on for unlimited shops on the lower plans. No price is published.

2

5

From two shops up, Pro annual costs less per shop than Growth's $17.99. At five shops it matches Starter's $5.99 with all-time history included. Each shop authorizes separately through Etsy's API and keeps its own data, so a Pro account is a real multi-shop workspace. On Starter or Growth, ask support for the add-on price in the in-app chat before you buy.

ProfitTree Pricing vs EverBee, eRank, and Alura

ProfitTree sits in the cheap half of the Etsy tool market. Its $5.99 Starter undercuts EverBee's $19.99 Growth and Alura's $7.99 Basic on annual billing. Only eRank's $5.50 Basic costs less. All four run a free plan, and ProfitTree is the only one of the four selling a lifetime option.

Refund rules differ as much as the prices: EverBee gives 3 days, eRank refunds annual plans within 14 days, ProfitTree allows 48 hours on annual and nothing on monthly. If you need keyword data more than margins, my list of cheaper ProfitTree alternatives ranks each one by what it replaces, and my ProfitTree vs EverBee comparison settles the head-to-head most sellers ask about.

What Etsy Takes From a $100 Sale, and Why That Sets ProfitTree's Value

Take a $100 Etsy sale with free shipping. A US seller pays $0.20 to list, $6.50 in transaction fees, and $3.25 in processing. That is $9.95 gone before advertising. If Offsite Ads brought the buyer, Etsy adds 15% or 12% on top. The cut climbs to $24.95 or $21.95.

ProfitTree's own example card: $10,382.90 net sales minus $3,453.32 COGS and $2,143.21 operating expenses leaves $4,786.37 profit, a 46% margin before ads. Source: profittree.io.

That arithmetic is what ProfitTree automates per order and per listing, which is why Starter at $5.99 costs less than Etsy's fees on one $100 order. One caveat sits in the help center rather than the sales page: Etsy's API gives no per-item fee data, so ProfitTree spreads listing, transaction, processing, and shipping costs across listings as weighted averages. Shop-level profit comes straight from your ledger. Listing-level profit is a fair estimate. Run your own numbers in our free Etsy fee calculator before deciding what any tool is worth.

Verdict: Is ProfitTree Worth the Price?

ProfitTree is worth $17.99 a month for a full-time Etsy shop with orders and ad spend. It is worth $0 for everyone still launching, and the pricing is cheap and honest for the category. The weak spots: a 12-hour sync, one shop below Pro, and a lifetime plan that undersells its headline.

  • Pay for Growth if: you run Etsy Ads and want demand scores, 30-day competitor trends, and a year of profit history.
  • Pay for Starter if: you want product and listing reports plus 90 days of history for $5.99 a month annually.
  • Stay on Free if: you get a handful of orders a week. The 7-day window still checks ProfitTree's math against your Etsy statement.
  • Skip it if: you sell off Etsy, need same-hour data, or run a shop whose currency differs from your bank's.

If you buy, take annual billing while the 40% rate lasts, and set a calendar reminder 3 days before renewal. For feature-by-feature scoring and what sellers report after months of use, read my full ProfitTree review, where it earns 4.0 out of 5.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ProfitTree cost?

ProfitTree costs $0, $5.99, $17.99, or $29.99 a month billed annually. Monthly billing is $9.99, $29.99, and $49.99. A separate $67 lifetime plan has a trimmed feature set.

Is there a ProfitTree free trial?

No. ProfitTree runs a permanent free plan instead of a trial. The help center says the freemium plan removes the need for one. Older mentions of a 7-day trial are outdated.

Does ProfitTree charge VAT?

Yes, where your country requires it. Advertised prices exclude tax, and Paddle adds VAT at checkout. From an EU address the $67 lifetime plan showed $81.07 with 21% VAT. A verified VAT ID removes it from future invoices.

Can I cancel ProfitTree at any time?

Yes. Cancellation is self-serve and stops future billing. Access runs to the end of the paid period. Monthly payments are not refunded, annual plans get 48 hours, lifetime purchases get 5 days.

Does ProfitTree have a lifetime plan?

Yes. A $67 lifetime plan sells from a separate landing page. It covers one shop, 30-day metrics, 200 AI credits a week, and POD integrations. Product and listing reports are excluded.

What is the difference between ProfitTree Starter and Growth?

Growth adds demand scores, 30-day competitor trends, and one year of profit history. Starter keeps 90 days of history, 7-day competitor metrics, and 350 AI credits a week against Growth's 800.

Is ProfitTree worth it?

Yes for shops with live orders and ad spend, no for pre-launch sellers. Growth at $17.99 a month billed annually is the value plan. I rate ProfitTree 4.0 out of 5 overall.

Which is cheaper, ProfitTree or EverBee?

ProfitTree. Its Starter costs $5.99 a month billed annually against EverBee Growth's $19.99. Both run free plans, but EverBee's Hobby tier hides sales and revenue data. ProfitTree's free tier shows 7 days of profit history.

How much does Etsy take from a $100 sale?

About $9.95 for a US seller before advertising: $0.20 listing, $6.50 transaction, $3.25 payment processing. An Offsite Ads sale adds another $12 or $15. ProfitTree subtracts these fees from each order automatically.
