EverBee is the best ProfitTree alternative for most Etsy sellers, and eRank is the pick if price is what pushed you out, at $5.50 a month billed annually. Every price on this page came off the vendor's own plan page this month. One catch first: nothing below copies ProfitTree's profit math.
That gap is the whole story. ProfitTree reads your Etsy ledger and shows what you kept per listing after fees, ad spend and product cost. Almost every tool people call an alternative estimates other shops' sales instead. Two different jobs, so pick by the reason you are leaving:
- Best overall: EverBee, free Hobby plan, paid from $19.99 a month billed annually
- Best budget pick: eRank, free plan, paid from $5.50 a month billed annually
- Best all-in-one: Alura, 4.2 on Trustpilot from more than 400 reviews
- Best for listing tests: Sale Samurai, from $16.65 a month billed annually
- Best free route: Etsy's own stats plus a spreadsheet, $0
Why Sellers Look for a ProfitTree Alternative
ProfitTree does one thing better than anything else on this page, and four things worse. It is Etsy only. It refreshes shop data about every 12 hours rather than in real time. It connects one shop below the top Pro plan. And its public evidence base is thin at 18 Trustpilot reviews.
ProfitTree's Product Finder reports monthly sales, revenue, views, listing age and conversion rate per listing. Any alternative has to match this half of the tool. Source: profittree.io.
- You sell somewhere other than Etsy. ProfitTree models Etsy fees only. eRank's extension also reads Shopify, Amazon, Printify and TeachersPayTeachers pages.
- You run two shops. Below Pro, ProfitTree connects one, and extra shops need a paid add-on whose price is not published.
- The data window is too short. Free keeps 7 days of profit history, Starter 90 days, Growth one year. Competitor metrics stop at 30 days until Pro.
- The extension froze your browser. Buyers in a January 2026 r/printondemand thread reported Chrome locking up when the Etsy Radar overlay loaded, and a January 2026 Trustpilot reviewer said it gobbles RAM.
- You wanted keyword research. ProfitTree ships no keyword tool. eRank Basic runs 100 keyword lookups a day for $5.50 a month billed annually.
ProfitTree Alternatives Compared
I ranked 7 alternatives on the job they replace, the price you pay yearly and the evidence behind their ratings. Prices below are annual-billing rates, because every tool here charges more month to month. Where a rating base is thin or self-published, the table says so.
Tool | Job it replaces | Cheapest paid plan | Rating evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
EverBee | Product research and sales estimates | $19.99 a month annually ($239 a year) | Trustpilot 3.2 (55); extension 4.7 (393) |
eRank | Keyword research, audits, trends | $5.50 a month annually ($65.99 a year) | Trustpilot 3.4 (3); extension 3.7 (26) |
Alura | Research, listings, Pinterest, email | $7.99 a month annually | Trustpilot 4.2 (400+); extension 4.3 (437) |
EtsyHunt | Product and keyword database | $7.99 a month annually | Extension 4.1 (95), an older count |
Sale Samurai | Keywords plus A/B listing tests | $16.65 a month annually ($199.90 a year) | Self-claimed 4.8, no public source |
Marmalead | Etsy keyword SEO only | $16 a month annually | Trustpilot 2.1 (10) |
Etsy stats plus a spreadsheet | True profit math | $0 | Not applicable |
1. EverBee: The Best Overall Alternative
EverBee is the closest straight swap for ProfitTree's research half. Its Chrome extension holds 4.7 stars from 393 ratings across 200,000 users, against 3.9 stars from 42 ratings and 10,000 users for ProfitTree. The free Hobby plan costs $0 forever and never asks for a card.
Scale is the pitch. EverBee advertises more than 200 million listings and 65 million keywords, so product hunting stops being the bottleneck. Growth costs $19.99 a month billed annually ($239 a year) and opens full analytics, unlimited keyword results and 100 tracked shops.
Check two things before you move. Annual plans renew with no reminder and refunds close after 3 days, the loudest complaint behind EverBee's 3.2 Trustpilot score from 55 reviews. And it estimates other shops' numbers, so it will never report your own margin. My detailed EverBee review scores both halves plan by plan, and my roundup of EverBee alternatives covers the same shortlist from the other direction.
2. eRank: Cheapest Tool You Will Use Daily
eRank costs $5.50 a month billed annually, which is $65.99 a year, and its free plan runs 5 keyword lookups a day. That is $5.89 a year less than ProfitTree Starter and $173 a year less than EverBee Growth. The company claims more than 2 million sellers.
Basic buys 100 keyword lookups a day, up to 5 shops, 200 connected listings and 50 listing audits a day. Pro at $7.92 a month annually doubles the lookups and tracks 50 competitors.
The contract terms are the friendliest here. Annual plans carry a 14-day money-back guarantee, monthly payments are not refundable, and cancelling drops the account to the free plan instead of locking you out.
The trade-off is evidence and polish. eRank's extension holds 3.7 stars from 26 ratings, its Trustpilot profile carries 3 reviews, and it does zero profit tracking. My eRank review walks the plan limits, and the ProfitTree vs eRank comparison settles which to buy first.
3. Alura: Best All-in-One Replacement
Alura covers the most ground for one bill: keyword research, listing optimization, Pinterest scheduling, A/B tests, email marketing and Etsy Ads optimization. Trustpilot rates it 4.2 from more than 400 reviews, the largest review base on this page. Paid plans start at $7.99 a month billed annually.
Growth at $14.99 a month billed annually adds full databases, 10x usage, 4 A/B tests and Etsy Ads optimization. Professional at $29.99 a month annually adds multiple shops, CSV export and 20 A/B tests, so it fixes the one-shop limit at the same price as ProfitTree Pro.
Its weak point is the one every estimate-based tool shares. Sellers in a May 2025 r/EtsySellers thread said Alura's data always seemed stale, and shaky estimates are the complaint that repeats most in its Reddit mentions. The 848,058 seller figure on its site is a company claim, not an audited number. My Alura review goes tool by tool, and the Alura vs ProfitTree comparison puts the two head to head.
4. EtsyHunt: The Budget All-Rounder
EtsyHunt bundles a product database with keyword and tag tools for $9.99 a month, or $7.99 a month billed annually, on top of a free tier. It is also the one tool here with a working discount code: revenuegeeks1 takes 10% off. Its tag extension carries 4.1 stars from 95 ratings.
It fits the seller who wants EverBee-style research at eRank-style money. Listing data, shop data and tag suggestions arrive in one subscription, which keeps a second tool optional.
What it will not do is your books. Like every database tool here, EtsyHunt models other shops' sales from public signals, so your own margin stays in a spreadsheet. My EtsyHunt review covers the tier limits and where the data holds up.
5. Sale Samurai: Best for Testing Listing Titles
Sale Samurai is the only tool here that A/B tests two versions of the same listing. It costs $19.99 a month, or $16.65 a month billed at $199.90 a year, and the freemium tier allows 20 keyword searches a month. A 3-day trial needs no card.
That tester is the reason to pick it. Instead of guessing which title converts, you run both versions and let the sales answer. The Listing Creator drafts titles and descriptions and fills all 13 tags, and the free extension ships with every plan. It runs in Chrome, Edge and Brave, so a browser change is an option if an Etsy overlay ever locked yours up.
Treat its own numbers carefully. The 40,000 active sellers, $250 million in tracked sales and 4.8 rating from 6,000 reviews are all self-published, with no source behind them. My Sale Samurai review digs into the keyword data and the A/B workflow.
6. Marmalead: The One I Would Skip
Marmalead is the weakest name on this page, and it is here only because sellers still shortlist it. It costs $19 a month, or $16 a month billed annually, after a 14-day trial. Trustpilot rates it 2.1 from 10 reviews, far below every other tool listed above.
The math kills it. Marmalead is a keyword-first Etsy SEO tool, and eRank does that job with a bigger free tier at roughly a third of the annual price. Ten reviews is a thin base to argue from, but 2.1 out of 5 is the worst signal here.
7. Etsy's Own Stats Plus a Spreadsheet: The Free Route
The free route is the only honest replacement for ProfitTree's profit tracking. Export your Etsy orders, subtract the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing at 3% plus $0.25, and you land on the same margin figure. Cost: $0 and about an hour a month.
On a $30 order those fees come to $3.30 before any advertising. Let Offsite Ads attribute that sale at 15% and another $4.50 leaves, so 26% of the order is gone. Our free Etsy fee calculator runs that arithmetic for a single listing in seconds.
For trend data, a seller in a July 2026 r/EtsyCommunity thread about the $67 offer told new sellers to use Etsy's own Marketplace Insights rather than pay anyone. In an older r/EtsySellers thread, sellers chasing listing-level profit pointed at QuickBooks once a spreadsheet stops scaling.
The route breaks at volume. Per-SKU costs across 200 listings, ad spend split by listing and competitor tracking are exactly the jobs software exists to do.
One Payment or a Monthly Bill: the 3-Year Cost
Alternatives lists compare monthly prices and stop there. The number that decides it is what you pay over the life of a shop. ProfitTree is the only tool here with a one-time price, $67 for lifetime access, and that single fact reshapes the comparison. Here is the 3-year math at today's rates.
Option | How it bills | 3-year cost at today's prices |
|---|---|---|
ProfitTree lifetime | One payment | $67 |
eRank Basic | $65.99 a year | $197.97 |
Alura Basic | $7.99 a month annually | $287.64 |
EtsyHunt | $7.99 a month annually | $287.64 |
Marmalead | $16 a month annually | $576 |
Sale Samurai | $199.90 a year | $599.70 |
EverBee Growth | $239 a year | $717 |
Cheapest is not the same as best. That lifetime plan is a trimmed version of the product: 30-day performance metrics, one shop, 200 AI credits a week, and its own fine print excludes product and listing reports. Buyers in a January 2026 r/printondemand thread said metrics they used were later moved behind an upgrade, and a July 2026 buyer called the 30-day window and single shop a surprise. The exact scope sits on my page about ProfitTree's $67 lifetime plan.
So the choice is narrow and permanent against broad and recurring: $67 once for a limited research tool, or $65.99 a year for keyword depth that grows while you pay.
What the Free Plans Actually Give You
Five of these tools run permanent free tiers, and the limits differ enough to change which one you test first. ProfitTree runs no trial at all, because its free plan never expires. This table is the fastest way to see which free plan hits your bottleneck first.
Free plan | What you get | The limit that pushes an upgrade |
|---|---|---|
ProfitTree Free | 200 AI credits a week, basic finder, one shop | Profit history stops at 7 days |
eRank Free | 5 keyword lookups a day, 1 shop, 50 listings | 5 lookups a day |
Alura Free | 5 searches a day per tool, 10 listings optimized | Limited databases |
EverBee Hobby | Research access, 10 keyword results, 5 tracked shops | Sales and revenue data hidden |
Sale Samurai Freemium | 20 keyword searches a month, 10 listings analyzed | 20 searches a month |
Etsy's own stats | Official shop data, no estimates | No competitor data at all |
Free tiers answer the research question, not the money question. Only ProfitTree's free plan shows real margin, and it stops at 7 days of history. If that 7-day wall is your only complaint, compare what ProfitTree costs before moving the whole stack.
When ProfitTree Is Still the Right Tool
Switching is the wrong move if margins are the problem. ProfitTree reads your own Etsy ledger, then subtracts fees, ad spend and product cost per listing. Nothing else on this page does that, and its ads tab reports TACoS and break-even ROAS against those real numbers instead of estimates.
ProfitTree tracks rival shops' sales, revenue, reviews and views over time. That window caps at 30 days on Growth and opens to all-time only on Pro, at $29.99 a month billed annually. Source: profittree.io.
- Margin per listing after Etsy fees, ad spend and product cost
- Free plan with 200 AI credits a week and no card required
- Cheapest paid entry here at $5.99 a month billed annually
- Printify and Printful push product costs in automatically
- Ads tab reports TACoS and break-even ROAS per listing
- Etsy only, so a second marketplace needs a second tool
- Shop data refreshes about every 12 hours, not in real time
- One shop below Pro, and extra shops need a paid add-on
- Thin evidence: 18 Trustpilot reviews and 42 extension ratings
- Etsy ad data and Printify costs arrive in USD only
The 12-hour refresh is the line that surprises buyers most. For the rest of the scorecard, including how the fee math handles Offsite Ads, read my ProfitTree verdict.
Decision Matrix: EverBee vs eRank vs Alura
Three variables decide this for almost everyone. First, whether you need product discovery or keyword depth. Second, what you will pay every year rather than this month. Third, whether one subscription has to cover listings, Pinterest and email as well as research.
- Choose EverBee if: Product discovery is the job. Its extension holds 4.7 stars from 393 ratings, and Hobby stays free forever.
- Choose eRank if: Budget decides it. $5.50 a month billed annually buys 100 keyword lookups a day and a 14-day refund window on annual plans.
- Choose Alura if: One subscription has to cover research, listing optimization, Pinterest and email, with multiple shops on the $29.99 annual tier.
Still selling only on Etsy, with orders landing and no clear margin? Keep ProfitTree and add eRank at $5.50 a month. Together they cost $11.49 a month, less than one EverBee Growth seat.
Verdict: Which Alternative to Pick
EverBee wins overall on research depth and extension quality, eRank wins on price at $5.50 a month billed annually, and Alura wins when one subscription has to do everything. None of the three replaces ledger-based profit tracking, so decide which half of ProfitTree you are actually replacing before you pay.
Leaving over the one-shop limit? Alura Professional and eRank Basic both include several. Leaving because the extension froze Chrome? EverBee's serves 200,000 users at 4.7 stars, and Sale Samurai's also runs in Edge and Brave.
Where each of these lands against the wider market sits in my ranking of Etsy seller tools, the faster read if you are building a stack from scratch rather than swapping one tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best ProfitTree alternative?
EverBee, for most sellers. Its Chrome extension holds 4.7 stars from 393 ratings across 200,000 users, and the free Hobby plan never expires. Paid plans start at $19.99 a month billed annually.
Is there a free ProfitTree alternative?
Yes, four of them. eRank, Alura, EverBee Hobby and Sale Samurai all run permanent free tiers, from 5 keyword lookups a day to 20 searches a month.
Which is better, EverBee or ProfitTree?
EverBee for finding products, ProfitTree for tracking money. EverBee estimates other shops' sales from a claimed 200 million listing database. ProfitTree reads your own ledger and reports margin per listing.
What is the cheapest ProfitTree alternative?
eRank Basic at $5.50 a month billed annually, or $65.99 a year. That is $5.89 a year under ProfitTree Starter and $173 a year under EverBee Growth.
Does any alternative track true Etsy profit?
No third-party tool here reads your ledger the way ProfitTree does. Alura ships a profit calculator on its free plan, and a spreadsheet built from your Etsy order export is the only free equivalent.
Is ProfitTree worth it?
Yes, if you have live orders and unclear margins. I rate it 4.0 out of 5. With zero sales there is nothing to track, so start with a research tool instead.
Is ProfitTree legit?
Yes. ProfitTree Ltd is a registered company in Paphos, Cyprus, registration number HE 455602. Trustpilot scores it 4.0 from 18 reviews. The complaints target scope, support and refunds, not payment.
Can I run ProfitTree and another tool together?
Yes, and plenty of sellers do. eRank Basic at $5.50 plus ProfitTree Starter at $5.99 is $11.49 a month, still under one EverBee Growth seat at $19.99.
Why do lifetime buyers complain?
Two reasons, both dated. In January 2026, r/printondemand buyers said metrics moved behind an upgrade and that Chrome froze on Etsy Radar. In July 2026, a buyer called the 30-day window and one-shop cap a surprise.
