How to use this GoHighLevel cost calculator

Enter the number of sub-accounts you run and your monthly message, call, and email volume. The calculator adds the published usage rates to the plan price and shows what you will actually be billed, along with which plan you need and how much margin a reseller markup would return.

  • Count SMS in segments, not messages. 160 characters of plain text is one segment, and a single emoji cuts that to 70.
  • Contacts and users are unlimited on every plan, so they never change the total.
  • The calculator assumes one local phone number per sub-account at $1.15 each.
  • Call minutes are priced at the outbound rate. Inbound calls forwarded to a real phone cost more.

Why the advertised price is never the real price

GoHighLevel plan prices are $97, $297, and $497 per month, and they have stayed there. The cost growth has all happened in the usage layer. Phone numbers, SMS segments and their carrier fees, call minutes, emails, and AI are billed separately through an agency wallet that tops itself up automatically.

A three sub-account agency sending 5,000 SMS segments, making 500 minutes of calls, and sending 20,000 emails pays $82.60 in usage on top of the $97 Starter plan. That is a real monthly cost of $179.60, or 85% above the advertised price.

The SMS number everyone gets wrong

GoHighLevel publishes $0.00747 per SMS segment. That is not what a delivered message costs. The recipient carrier adds a surcharge, between $0.0035 and $0.0050 in the United States, so the real cost is around $0.01147 per segment, 54% above the published rate. Inbound replies bill at the same rate as sends.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this GoHighLevel calculator include?

The plan price plus phone numbers, SMS with carrier fees, call minutes, emails, and AI Employee. It excludes A2P registration, WhatsApp, workflow premium executions, call recording, and optional add-ons, which are listed with their published rates under the result.

Are these GoHighLevel rates official?

Yes. Every rate comes from GoHighLevel pricing and help center pages checked in July 2026. The main sources are the pricing page, the LC Phone Pricing and Billing Guide, the HighLevel Pricing Guide, and the AI Products Pricing article.

Why is my SMS cost higher than GoHighLevel advertises?

Because the recipient carrier adds its own fee on top of the $0.00747 platform rate. A delivered US segment costs about $0.01147. The calculator uses a blended carrier fee, and the published range is $0.0035 to $0.0050. HighLevel removed its old 5% Stripe markup on October 1, 2025, so these bill at raw carrier cost.

What is a SMS segment?

One segment is 160 characters of plain text, or 70 characters if the message contains an emoji. A 300-character message is two segments, and adding one emoji makes it five. Counting messages instead of segments understates cost badly.
