How to Use the Helium 10 Misspellinator? (In-Depth Guide)

When driving traffic to your website, have you ever considered using misspelled keywords?

If not, but you want to learn more, then you’re in luck! We’ve spent hours using Helium 10’s  Misspellinator tool, so we could provide you with the best information possible.

In this article, you’ll find what the Misspellinator is, how it works, and how it can benefit you and your business.

So, let’s get started.

What Is Helium 10’s Misspellinator?

Also known as the “Misspelled Keyword Extractor,” Helium 10 Misspellinator is a keyword research tool that extracts commonly misspelled keywords for you to use. These misspelled keywords will give you a revenue boost and a competitive edge on Amazon.

You may be wondering why you need to know all the misspelled search terms that pertain to your business. Well, misspelled search terms have little to no competition and could potentially be profitable. If consumers are constantly spelling your main keywords wrong and can still find what they’re looking for, why shouldn’t you home in on these mistakes?

So, we have studied Misspellinator and broken down everything you’ll need to know about the feature.

Here’s our guide on how to effectively utilize Misspellinator to boost your revenue and visibility in Amazon search results.

What Does Misspellinator Offer Your Amazon Business?

Higher Ranking in Amazon's Search Results

Helium 10 Misspellinator will help you to conduct keyword research, analyze competitors, and home in on the best keywords that target your audience. This, in turn, will drive traffic from Amazon searches to your product pages and increase your rank in Amazon’s system.

A Boost in Your Sales

The key rule of thumb is the more relevant your keywords are then the more visibility you’ll receive on Amazon. So, you definitely want to take advantage of all the misspelled keywords you can.

By taking advantage of consumers’ common misspellings in regards to your products, you can increase your revenue and even boost organic traffic to your products.

You’ll also have a leg up on the competition because your competitors may not know to rope in misspellings into their product’s keywords.

Largest Keyword Database

When you use the Misspellinator, you’ll tap into the Helium 10’s extensive database of terms and keywords. With access to such a large database, you’ll be able to see most spelling variations of your keywords.

Use this knowledge to implement those typos into your content and drive consumers to your products.

Access to Other Countries

The cool part about Misspellinator is if you want to reach consumers outside of the US, you can!

When you open an account with Helium 10, it primarily focuses on North America (Canada, Mexico, and the US). However, you can open accounts in the UK, Australia, and India.

This allows you to reach a broader audience and take advantage of their misspelled words.

Implementing Misspelled Keywords & Where to Put Them

After you have your list of misspelled keywords, what do you do? How do you implement these typos?

You don’t necessarily want to include misspellings directly into your content because that would risk the credibility of your product page. But we have a few suggestions for you:

  • Include typos in your alt text
  • Use phrase “often misspelled as”
  • Allow your consumers to do the work in reviews
  • Hide keywords in your listings

By including typos in your product pages using any of the suggested options above, you increase the likelihood of your products appearing in search results on Amazon.

The Cost

My favorite thing about the Misspellinator is that it is included in all Helium 10 plans! Helium 10 offers five plans at various price points with different features depending on your needs.

Here’s a brief breakdown of the plans:

Helium 10 Plan Monthly Cost Misspellinator Uses
Free $0 4 uses

Diamond $209/month Unlimited
Elite $399/month Unlimited

  2. Click “Prepare” at the bottom to separate your keywords into individual words.
  3. Your keywords will appear in the “Prepared Keywords” section. Here you can select any and all the keywords you want the Misspellinator to research. But before finding any misspellings, you’ll need to select all the words you want to search.
  4. After you’re done, click the “Find Misspellings” at the bottom.

  1. After your results have been processed, you’ll be able to see all the spelling variations of your keywords, along with their popularity and if Amazon auto-corrects the word.

You can now copy a handful of your keywords, or all of them, to your clipboard or export your results for later.

Amazon Auto-Corrections

As outlined by the results chart in step 9, Misspellinator takes into account whether Amazon auto-corrects a misspelled word or not.

But what does this mean for you?

Well, knowing if Amazon auto-corrects any of your keywords can help you plan and strategize your keyword usage. If you know that Amazon auto-corrects a keyword that is commonly mistyped, you won’t necessarily need to add the word to your product page.

For example, based on our search for “purple pillow,” we can see that all our misspelled keywords above 5% popularity will be autocorrected.

However, say “purpal” was not auto-corrected. When “purpal” is searched, instead of auto-correcting to “purple,” Amazon would leave it as “purpal.”

So, you can implement the word “purpal” into your product’s page and gain rank on the word.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately not. Since Misspellinator is linked to your plan, the number of searches you can conduct is also linked to the plan.

Please note that you have unlimited uses with the Platinum, Diamond, or Elite plan.

You’ll need to conduct research on your competitors and see their top 15 keywords, at least, that are attracting the most attention. From here, you can conduct your own keyword research, including common misspellings.

Easy, your competitors may not know how useful these words are, so there is untapped potential. Typical high-ranking keywords, long-tail, and short-tail, are great, but sometimes you need a leg up, and that’s where commonly misspelled words come into play.

The main benefit is that you’ll appear more often in Amazon searches. Meaning, that your products will gain more visibility and rank higher, which leads to more sales.

Absolutely! Helium 10 offers two other keyword research tools: Cerebro and Magnet.

Helium 10 Misspellinator is a vital tool for Amazon sellers, regardless of experience. If you want to increase revenue and gain an edge over competitors, tapping into the potential of misspelled words is a great way to start.
